First, congratulations on reaching lvl 80!  Take a moment to savor the milestone, but then realize your road has really just begun.  Much of the content in the game is really geared to lvl 80 (pardon the pun).

Finalize your preferred PvE build. This is important since it dictates what kind of gear you should be going for.  Share your thoughts with an experienced member of your class before committing to it.

Continue running world events to get more rare items and potential ectoplasm salvage.  These events will also start giving you dragonite ore, used in crafting ascended tier items.  If you are lucky you can get exotics!

Get some reasonable "starting" lvl 80 gear.
If you are fortunate, you'll have some options from random drops, or possibly some dungeon tokens (if you ran dungeons before you hit 80).

Check how many laurels and guild commendations you have.
* 20 laurels + 250 badges of honor (from wvw or achievement chests)
** alternatively 30 laurels will get you an ascended amulet (but 10 laurels are more valuable than 250 badges).
* 12 guild comms + 5g will get you an ascended accessory (you'll want 2).
Make sure you know what is appropriate for your build before buying!

If you like farming gold, then you can buy yourself some exotic gear to fill in the gaps (typically 1-3g per piece, though sub optimal stats can be had for cheaper).  Otherwise, buy ( or craft) some lvl 80 yellow and green gear to get you started, and run more dungeons to get the rest of your exotic weapons and armor.

If you haven't done any dungeons yet, now is the time to learn some of the easier and faster ones. Get in on a guild run for the first couple.  We don't run dungeons all the time, and groups can fill up. If you are new and are looking to learn those dungeons, let the various officers know so we can be on the lookout for you.  Be alert to guild chat and log on to teamspeak; people typically aren't going to wait around long when filling up a dungeon group.  Make sure you let the group know your experience level so that explanations can be given (and log onto teamspeak so it is easier to get the explanations - even if you don't have a mic).
TO DO: LINK TO EASY DUNGEON LIST  & DISTINGUISH BETWEEN EASY VS FAST DUNGEONS

Once you have done the dungeon and feel you understand it, you can use the lfg tool to join groups when you can't join our start a guild run.  But make sure you know your role in the dungeon before doing so (and the various shortcuts if you are in a speed run - its very annoying when someone aggros/fights mobs that were supposed to be skipped).

As you earn dungeon tokens, you can exchange them for lvl 80 exotic (orange) armor and weapons.  The smaller armor pieces need 180 tokens.
